Sprint is planning to sell iPhone for prepaid usage as it is following ‘Leap Wireless Cricket’ policy with plans to offer sale of Apple iPhones for the use on ‘pay-as-you-go service.
As reported by Wall Street Journal, Sprint Virgin Mobile will soon start competing on the prepaid iPhone market. An announcement in this regards is expected within this week with sale starting from July 1.
As announced by Leap Wireless’ Cricket last week, it would start the sale of iPhone from June 22 for use on its prepaid wireless service.
Though no pricing plans have been announced by Sprint, but Cricket has following plans:
- 16GB iPhone 4S for $499.99
- 8GB iPhone 4 for $399.99
- No-contract plan, costing $55 a month, would offer:
- - Unlimited calling and text messaging
- - 2.3GB of data transfer
- Virgin Mobile already offers a similar plan for just $35 a month with 2.5GBs of data.
WSJ is of the view that this commitment will include the sale of $15.5 billion worth of iPhones during the next four years.
