Microsoft – Fujitsu Entered Into Strategic Partnership? – Fujitsu Launches GCPS, Powered By Microsoft Windows Azures

Today, Fujitsu Ltd. and Microsoft Corp. announced the release of Global Cloud Platform service (GCPS) powered by Windows Azure which would be running in Fujitsu’s datacenter in Japan w.e.f. August 2011.

For the same partnership, initial understanding between Fujitsu and Microsoft was announced in July 2010. This partnership allows Fujitsu to work with Microsoft to enable, deliver and manage solutions, built on Windows Azure. Since April 21, 2011, Fujitsu has been extending the services in Japan on a trial basis to 20 companies marking the first official production release of the Windows Azure platform appliance by Fujitsu.

The benefits for the business clients by applying FGCP/A5 would be enormous. The following three would be just the few as compared to the real ones:

  • Quickly build elastically scalable applications using familiar Windows Azure platform technologies
  • Streamline their information communications technology (ICT) operations management to accelerate business expansion
  • Enhance their competitive edge in the global market.
