Google’s Accusation About the Competitors of Android – Microsoft Responds

In a public statement about the David Drummond of Apple’s allegation that its competitors (Microsoft, Apple and others) are engaged in a hostile and organized campaign against Android, and intentionally outbid the Mountain View company for Nortel and Novell patents with the intent of ‘strangling’ competitive choice.

Microsoft’s general counsel responded the following in a tweet:

‘Google says we bought Novell patents to keep them from Google. Really? We asked them to bid jointly with us. They said no’.

It is not clear whether Google refused to join the group on general principle or out of spite for their chief competition but now both the parties have shared their argument of the story.

As per experts, the patent system seems to be very much flawed and the patent-related lawsuits is a major issue in the tech world, so I hope the story would move further with respond from Google as well. But I wish they would have taken a joint action as it would be a better step for the consumers.
