3 months after the release of Windows 7 to the manufacturing on July 22, 2009, it was launched in the market for availability to the market around the World on October 22, 2009. From time to time Microsoft offered the following with Windows 7:

Newly introduced features in Windows 7  

New features have been, either added or enhanced/improved, in Windows 7 as compare to the previous versions or the Windows Vista or XP. A little detail is given below:

1. New addition/improvement of in touch and handwriting recognition
2. More readily available support for the virtual hard disks
3. Multicore Processors with enhanced performance
4. Better boot performance than offered by Windows Vista and Windows XP
5. Improvements in DirectAccess and kernel
6. Support added for systems, using multiple heterogeneous graphics cards, such as, heterogeneous multi-adapter, manufactured by different vendors
7. A better performing new version of Windows Media Center with a Gadget for Windows Media Center
8. New media features added:
- XPS Essentials Pack
- Windows PowerShell
9. A calculator with many multiline capabilities, such as:

    b. Statistics modes
c. Facility for converting:
- Length
- Weight
- Temperature
- And more

11.An existing facility in the Windows, Windows Security Center, is renamed as ‘Windows Action Center’  which was named ‘Windows Health Center and Windows Solution Center’ in the earlier builds of Windows which is related to security as well as regular repair and maintenance of the computer
12.Supports up to 256 gigabytes of extra allocation is also available for the ReadyBoost on 32-bit
13. Windows 7 extends the support for images in RAW image format when it adds Windows Imaging Component-enabled image decoders which helps:
a. Raw image thumbnails
b. Previewing and metadata display in Windows Explorer
c. Full-sized viewing
d. Availability of slideshows in Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Media Center
